Virginia Child Pornography Laws

Have you ever heard it said, “How much can you learn from people based on what’s in their traps? It might make you think twice before throwing something at them.

The same can be said about the laws of our society. You can tell how seriously we take something based on laws and penalties related to the issue. If you look at the law on child pornography, you can say that we as a society take it very seriously.

As for the law itself, it falls into five different categories. The law on child pornography deals with the issue of child abuse and exploitation.

It is a Class 6 crime to simply possess child pornography, regardless of how it was obtained. This will be the bottom rung of children’s pornography.

From here, things only get worse. Reproduction of the next aspect carries a penalty of 5 – 20 years in prison. Dunk on the third ladder may be with a fine of up to $ 10,000 for exchanging a link with an email containing child pornography.

If you’ve already been convicted of a crime, you’re going to have to do what I did.

Solidarity carries a minimum of five years in prison. Virginia law states that distributing child pornography is a felony punishable by a fine of up to $ 10,000 and a maximum sentence of 10 years. The last two aspects of the law are abbebed by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Virginia State Police.

If indicted and convicted on one of the five counts, you are likely to spend time in prison. The consequences for this type of crime vary widely. As stated earlier, our society takes child pornography very seriously.

For example, as already mentioned, possession of child pornography is abbebed as a Class 6 criminal offense. In Virginia, this sixth grade felony is punishable by up to 1.5 years in prison. This is huge, and it’s not just because of the seriousness of this type of crime.

You need a lawyer who can negotiate on your behalf. However, you need a lawyer to assist you in the proceedings. If you testify that someone else is also involved in child pornography, then you may get a lighter sentence.

Things get worse if you create or distribute it yourself, which is surprisingly easy to do given the broad way the law is written. That’s what the consequences are for those who are found guilty of distributing child pornography.

Every country in the Commonwealth takes the protection of children very seriously. We need strong criminal lawyers to help. But not all lawyers are created equal.
